YEAR 10 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 7

Laptop Expectations

With the number of laptops being returned to the library for repair on the rise, it is timely to remind students and parents of the expectations surrounding laptop use. Students are expected to transport their laptops to and from classes in their laptop cases. Laptops should not be placed on chairs or the floor unless they are safely in a bag. Laptops should remain in the classroom or locker when using the facilities, such as the toilets. Laptops are not to be used during breaks, except in the library.

Supporting your child for Assessment success!

As we enter the assessment period, parents can support their child's success by helping establish effective study habits. Create a quiet study space, set up a consistent daily schedule, and encourage regular breaks. Help organise assignments and due dates while ensuring your child gets adequate sleep and nutrition. Showing interest in their work and developing these study habits now will benefit their long-term academic growth and confidence beyond this assessment period.

Uniform Schedule: Week 7

WHOLE-OF-COLLEGE NOTICES:

Sport Polo Update

We’ve been continuing our project to find a new alternative to the Sport Polo. Recently, we conducted a sample test of the third version, where a group of students wore the polos to help us assess their fit and comfort. This feedback is valuable as we work towards finding the right option to introduce in future years.

We’ll keep you informed of any updates as we move closer to a rollout.

All students are invited to our 2025 Mabo Day Movie Night, marking the end of Reconciliation Week and celebrating Mabo Day.

Feedback Surveys will be conducted during Weeks 6-8 of Term 2, May 26 – June 13, to enable the analysis of results to be incorporated into the school's annual planning processes.

All parents and staff will be invited by email from CES to complete the survey, and all students in Years 5, 6, 8, and 11. We estimate that the survey will take up to 20 minutes to complete. All surveys are anonymised in the Survey Manager system, with email reminders sent weekly to non-respondents.  Please don't share your survey link - families, staff, and students must access it in their email.

KEY DATES - Please note that all key dates are listed in the College Calendar. This can be accessed via the MyCE Parent App and synced with your personal calendar.

Enjoy your weekend; we look forward to welcoming students back to the College on Monday!
