Kinder News

Vocational Studies Program with students from Brunswick Secondary College.
The Brunswick Secondary students are coming in once a week for 4 weeks of shared play, support, and interaction. It’s been beautiful to see our kinder children becoming more comfortable and confident around their new buddies. Reading books together, creating in the art area, or playing outdoors, the connections forming are thoughtful and respectful. We can already see how these interactions are enriching both groups. The students have been getting to the kinder children, to write a book for them and then present on their final week.
Colour Mixing with Droppers – Fine Motor Fun Meets Science
This week’s focus on fine motor skills came through an engaging colour mixing activity using droppers. The children loved experimenting with different coloured water, watching how the colours changed as they mixed them. Using droppers was a great way to strengthen finger muscles and coordination, while also sparking lots of curiosity and conversation about colours and cause-and-effect.
Playground Adventures – Moving Our Bodies and Taking Safe Risks
Spending time in the school playground, where the children had a blast climbing, running, and exploring new equipment. These big outdoor spaces are perfect for developing gross motor skills, encouraging independence, and sharing in cooperative physical play with peers and our visiting students.
Musical Minds with Riley – Singing, Playing, Learning
On Monday, Riley joined us for our much-loved Musical Minds session. With songs, rhythm games, and hands-on instruments, Riley created a space full of energy, creativity, and music. The children sang along, moved to the beat, and explored instruments—building their confidence, coordination, and sense of joy through music.
Speech and Language Program – Growing Communication Skills
Our weekly speech program supports each child’s language development in small, focused group sessions. This week we worked on building vocabulary, encouraging full sentences, and supporting turn-taking during conversations. These skills are so important in helping our children connect with others and express themselves.
