WALKATHON

We were incredibly fortunate with the weather last Friday for our annual walkathon. It was wonderful to see all the kids dressed as their favorite M&Ms, some sporting crazy hair and socks.

Our sincere thanks go to Amanda McConaghy for her outstanding organisation of the event.  Thank you to all of our parent volunteers for helping set up, cut fruit, stamp tags, marshal the event and pack down.

A big thank you also goes to TheirCare for donating a HUGE amount of fruit that was enjoyed by the kids after the event.

Donations can be made via QKR and are due by Wednesday, 11th June.  If you have any questions about the donation process please speak with your class rep.

VALUES

A big thank you to all the families who participated in our values review by casting their votes. After tallying the votes from students, families, and staff, I’m excited to announce our new school values:

BE KIND: We are kind to ourselves and others with our words and actions. We make respectful and caring choices that positively impact other people. We build relationships to create a community where everybody belongs.

BE RESPONSIBLE: We look after ourselves and show respect to people, places and our environment. We make positive choices. We do the right thing even if no one is watching and accept the results of our actions.

BE AN ACTIVE LEARNER: We engage with our learning and are curious to learn more about the people and world around us. We always strive to do our best and persist when faced with challenges. We are proud of our efforts and celebrate our achievements.

You are warmly invited to join the Wellbeing Sub-Committee next Thursday, 5th June, for a discussion on the rollout of our values, including the definitions and behaviours we're developing for each. We’d love to hear your thoughts and input as we shape this important work together. Email your interest to join in the discussion at south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au

PARENT SUPPORT AROUND OUR SCHOOL

We are incredibly grateful to a group of dedicated parents, who have generously volunteered their time over the past few weekends to help improve our school. Their efforts included reviving and enhancing our First Nations garden, making and installing ball guards on our gym heaters, and repainting the yellow lines around our playground to enhance student safety.

A heartfelt thank you to Michael Grech, Alicia Carson, Nathan Pore, Petra Sahlberg, Alister Smith, and student, Finn Smith, for your generous support and commitment to our school community.

PREP ENROLMENTS NOW DUE

Do you have a child starting Prep next year? It’s time to enrol!

Please complete the enrolment form and provide your child’s immunisation history to Dee in the office or send both documents via email to south.melbourne.park.ps@education.vic.gov.au.

ATTITUDES TO SCHOOL SURVEY

We are currently in the process of administering the Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS) to our Year 4–6 students. The confidential data we gather will offer valuable insights into what we’re doing well and where we can improve, as a school. Our students have done a fantastic job engaging thoughtfully with the survey.
