Year 11 & 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies Camp – Great Ocean Walk Adventure

Our Year 11 and 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students recently embarked on a four-day hiking journey along the iconic Great Ocean Walk. Immersed in the natural beauty of the Otways, students challenged themselves physically and mentally while deepening their understanding of Victoria’s unique coastal environments.

A highlight of the camp included a private guided tour of the historic Cape Otway Lighthouse, offering insight into the area’s maritime heritage and conservation efforts. Students also had the privilege of meeting a Traditional Owner and Elder, who shared powerful stories and cultural knowledge of the Aire River region and the Ganubanud people, fostering respect and appreciation for the deep connections between Indigenous communities and Country.

This experience was both educational and enjoyable, reinforcing the values of environmental history, conservation and cultural awareness.
