Chev Need to Knows
17 November 2023
Dear Parents and Carers
I trust this edition of Need to Knows finds you well as we move forward after recent media regarding plans for 2024 teaching and learning.
Again, on behalf of the staff, I extend my thanks to parents and carers for your overwhelming expressions of support and trust in what we do and will continue to do for your children; that is, support their learning and growth in an environment underpinned with a high level of commitment to care and wellbeing.
Below are links to key pieces of media from the last few days, commencing with those which we have not previously shared:
We have placed all of the media in one location, which you can access here.
Lastly, we encourage you to visit the College’s Facebook page which reflects the high level of support expressed to the College by our community.
On another matter, I am excited to share images associated with our updated Building Master Plan. The Master Plan is yet to be finalised by the College’s Building Committee and will then go to the Board for approval in the first part of 2024. In the meantime, the images below will show you what is emerging as part of each phase of the Master Plan.

2024 will require some uniform changes for students still in the old uniforms, as per the Principal's Message in the 31 March edition of Need to Knows.
To prevent families having to come in January, we strongly advise you visit the Chev Shop during Term 4, to purchase the current uniforms. Please note the last day for trading is Friday 24 November due to stocktake. Students are welcome to come to the Shop during their breaks on Thursdays and Fridays and we gladly accept payments over the phone and students can collect.
Holiday opening hours can be found on the College website.
Any students receiving a catch-up vaccination on Wednesday 22 November are required to wear their PE uniform to school that day. Please ensure they have a proper breakfast before school.
If you are unsure if your child is receiving a vaccine, please contact NSW Health or check the immunisation register online. The College does not keep an updated record of vaccines.
Additional information will be provided to students in the Daily Notices next week.
If you have a child in Year 7 – 11 who will be leaving the College at the end of this academic year, please send a notification email to enrolments@chevalier.nsw.edu.au.
Now that the weather is a little warmer, a reminder that bike racks are available for students to secure their bikes if they wish to ride to school. The racks are located in the centre of the College in the walkway between the library and the Main Office building.
A Year 12 international Chev student is in need of a host family for 2024. For more information regarding this opportunity, please contact John Hargreaves via office@chevalier.nsw.edu.au.
