Student Learning Culture and Growth

As we enter our second week of the VCE examinations, the College has appreciated the way in which our Senior students have engaged in the process and continue to present to the exams with enthusiasm and commitment.

For all other cohorts, it is essential that your work ethic and commitment to your studies continue throughout the coming weeks to ensure all students provide themselves with the best opportunity to succeed with their studies and celebrate their achievements and learning successes.

As we move towards the Years 9-11 examination period, commencing on Monday 20 November - Thursday 23 November, we strongly encourage all students to commence with additional study and exam preparation.  There are many online platforms to assist all students to assist with exam preparation including the Art of Smart Study Platform. This platform provides recommendations for the top 5 most effective study tips for students in Year 9 and 10. The tips include.

Tip #1: Have a Consistent Study Time

Tip #2: Revise Regularly

Tip #3: Leave Time for Self-Care

Tip #4: Use a Timetable

Tip #5: Create a Term Overview

This platform also gives students the opportunity to create visuals including their own study timetable. As part of creating this schedule, students may also add the notion of parking their mobile phone in places within the family home where it does not distract from planned study sessions, along with quality sleep.

On Wednesday 15 November, Year 11 students will be attending an on-site Study Skills Seminar in preparation for Year 12. This Seminar provides the opportunity for our students to work towards each students strengths, understand the importance of homework and study, create a school/life balance and to prepare to ‘hit the ground running’ in their final year of school.

The College extends an invitation to our students and parents/guardians/carers to attend the 2023 Showcase Evening, held at the College in the Ratisbonne Building and Marian Theatre on Thursday 9 November, from 5:00pm – 7:30pm.  This is an opportunity to celebrate and witness the talents and exhibitions of our LEAP and Performing Arts students from Years 7-11.
