SUCCESS STORIES

OLYMPIC CHANGE-MAKER

Congratulations to Caitlin Lyon (Year 12) who has been selected to attend the Olympic Change-Maker National Summit in Canberra.

Caitlin Lyon

Caitlin was nominated as an Olympic Change-Maker because of her drive and passion for sport and displaying the Olympic spirit.

Following her nomination Caitlin was invited to create a video application to attend the National Forum. Applications for the National Summit were submitted by hundreds of change makers from across the country. It was my pleasure to greet her from her final VCE exam to let her know that her application had been successful, and she was one of the 25 students selected to attend the Summit.

The National Summit is a unique event that brings together up to 25 young leaders from around the country. During this event, students will work alongside Olympians and provide a vital youth voice and recommendations to the Australian Olympic Committee. This year’s event will take place at the Institute of Sport in Canberra from Tuesday 5 - Friday 8 December.

Caitlin has had quite a final year of school, being selected for the High Performance Soccer Refereeing programme, Flag bearing for the Matilda’s at the World Cup, and now the National Summit.

We wish Caitlin all the best for this exciting event and look forward to hearing how it went.
