DISCOVERING THE WONDERS OF MATHS .... TOGETHER

During the Family Maths sessions, we explored mathematics in an engaging and rewarding way. It was also an opportunity for families to become familiar with the new and innovative teaching and learning approaches that Carnegie Primary School teachers practice in their maths spaces. The activities shared were examples of tasks that are readily presented to our students with the aim of refining mathematical skills and with a focus on the four proficiencies : Understanding, Fluency, Reasoning, and Problem-Solving. Tasks that are supported with simple resources and require minimal preparation. Thanks again to those who attended, for actively participating and for your interest in learning more about how our children learn maths at school. We endeavour to now follow up from these sessions by sharing family maths activities and other online links that you might find useful and fun to engage in at home.
