Updates from Miss Maree
What an eventful, fast paced, fun filled beginning of Term 2 it's been! How are we already 3 weeks in? As you're all aware, our wonderful leader, Miss Maree has been recovering from surgery on her left eye over the past month. We are so grateful that it was a success, but we are all looking forward to welcoming her back in a few weeks. Miss Maree will be back with us in Week 5 for a couple of weeks, and then she will be having surgery on the other eye so will require the remainder of the term off to rest and recover. We are very much looking forward to her return to normal duties in Term 3, but looking forward to seeing her around the school in a few weeks...she can never truely stay away!
What an incredible turn out to our annual Mother's Day Afternoon Tea on Friday over in the Hall. Thank you to the amazing staff who pulled it all together, creating an afternoon that our wonderful Mums could come and relax, have a cuppa and enjoy something delicious to eat. The weather was perfect! It goes without saying that we feel incredibly blessed at St Joseph's to have the community of mothers that we do. A big shout out to Lou and Clare for their constant support in fundraising and providing a stall for the children to purchase gifts for their mums or special people. The time, effort and care you put in does not go unnoticed. Thank you. We are delighted to announce that we have raised a little over $2,500 with our stall and raffle, an incredible effort by all involved.
To the wonderful women on staff, who nurture and care for all of our children each and everyday...thank you. Our children are so lucky to have you all in their lives. Wishing all our beautiful Mums and special women in our lives a very Happy Mother's Day for this Sunday.
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the next stage at cross country on Friday in Murchison. A big shout out to Seb in Grade 5, who has worked incredibly hard over the years on his long distance running and took out first place in his age group. Congratulations Seb, we know how much this means to you. All the best to those heading across to Yea next week for the next stage of the cross country. Goodluck!
A great beginning to Term 2's Chooseday afternoons which commenced this week. With the addition of a new knitting group this term, we are excited to see what is created!
At St Joseph’s, we offer the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and the Sacrament of First Holy Communion to any Year 3 (or older) students. If you are interested in your child/ren receiving any of these Sacraments throughout 2025, could you please contact the office on 5794 2608 or email details to office@sjnagambie.catholic.edu.au.
We will have our first ‘Parent Faith Formation and Information Meeting’, for the Sacrament of Reconciliation, on Tuesday 20th May, at 3:30pm at St Joseph’s School. Please come along to this meeting so that you can find out about the Sacraments and we will inform you of all future dates at the meeting. Children do not need to attend this meeting, but are welcome.
A gentle reminder to all families to have their photo forms back to the office asap. Photos will be taken on Wednesday 14th May.
On Tuesday 27th May we will be holding an Open Day to showcase our school to our broader community, for them to come and see all of the wonderful things we do here. We have been busy these past few weeks already showing prospective families around our school, who are interested in what we do here at St Joseph's. If you know of anyone who may be interested in a private tour, please don't hesitate to see Sarah in the main office who can organise this.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
Take care,
Ebony
