Parliament Prize Competition

For students in Years 7 - 12

If you were a politician, what issue would you want to highlight or work on fixing? You have your chance of having your voice heard by entering the 2025 Parliament Prize!

Entries for this year’s Parliament Prize competition are now

open for Victorian students from Year 7-12.

This popular competition asks students to consider the issues that are important in their own communities and record a 90-second video of a statement they would make to parliament if they were an elected Member of Parliament.

Students can win cash prizes for themselves and their schools, with two high school entry categories: Years 7-9 and Years 10-12.

The Parliament Prize gives young people in our community the opportunity to talk about issues that matter to them. In the past issues that have been discussed included the cost of living, anti-discrimination, health and mental health, artificial intelligence and education.

Entries for this year’s prize can be submitted via the competition website:

www.vicparl.news/parlprize, until 5pm on Friday 13 June 2025.

The website also includes resources that will help you prepare your speech.

If you are interested in entering the competition, please contact Mrs Herman in the Senior School staffroom or by email: meryl.herman@education.vic.gov.au
