Newsletter - Term 2 Week 4
It only seems like yesterday that we started Term 2 but here we are about to enter week 5! The Mindfulness Centre continues to be well visited by many of our students seeking a break from the playground or to engage in some of the many games and activities on offer. The room has also been very busy with our Wellbeing Leaders planning new activities across the school and the training of our new Friendology Leaders. There will be more to come about our Friendology Leaders in the coming weeks.
A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported our Royal Children’s Hospital Fundraiser by purchasing a Wellby. We were overwhelmed with the excitement these little turtles created across the school. We are very proud to say that in total our school raised $1,041!
Reminder that the combined LEGO Challenge and ART Show is coming up. We have had a few students pop in to chat about their ideas already.
What’s happening across the school?
Our Prep students are continuing to learn about interoception – and how to recognise the signals their bodies are giving them about their surroundings and feelings. Thank you to Danni La Ferlita, OT for helping our students to develop their skills in this area.
Grade 2 Students are starting, next week, to learn about our Friendology program. Learning what to expect in a friendship and how to navigate the ups and downs of a friendship is a tricky skill that takes a lot of practise and time to develop.
If you as a parent would like to know more about Friendology, you can access the website URSTRONG to find out about the program and the language we use. Please note that it is free for parents
Eltham North’s LEGO CHALLENGE IS BACK and this year it will run alongside another creative showcase… THE ENPS TINY ART SHOW! Students are invited to participate in one or both events and show off their amazing creative skills.
Students are invited to select from the categories below, design, create, build, paint, collage or draw a masterpiece to bring to school for display and judging.
