Principal News

What a terrific week we have had at ENPS since our last newsletter!
Movie Night
On Friday night we held our Under The Stars Movie Night and it was……..AWESOME!! The assembly court was transformed into an outdoor cinema complete with a coffee and snacks van. There was freshly popped corn as well as Pauline’s own mulled wine (alcohol free) being served. The atmosphere was one of excitement. The thing that I particularly enjoyed was seeing the joy on the children’s faces being out on a Friday night with school friends watching a movie in the dark! This event would not have been possible without the efforts of our PFA. Thank you to Pauline who brought the idea to the PFA and then led the planning and delivery of this wonderful community event. This event wasn’t a fundraiser. It was funded primarily by PFA raised funds and was a social event for our wonderful community who helped raise the funds.
We are currently looking at a focus project for the PFA funds to be directed toward that benefits all members of our school community. More information about this project will come soon.
Maths Day
On Wednesday we had a fabulous day celebrating Maths. Students dressed up as numbers, shapes, mathematical tools such a dice and calculators, t-shirts decorated in algorithms…. the list goes on! We held 2 open hours for families to attend and participate in Maths activities. These sessions were well attended and enjoyed by everyone. We held a parade with number and maths tunes selected by Mrs Jedrys. We all know how much our students love a parade and Wednesday was no exception! To be truthful, many of the staff very much enjoy the chance to be part of a good parade too. The feedback from students and families has been how much fun it was and how enjoyable it was to engage in the classroom.
Update on School Uniform
Firstly, thank you to all the families that took the time to share your thoughts about a possible uniform change. The volume of responses has provided School Council with the information to make an informed decision moving forward. Responses were carefully considered and discussed. The overwhelming feedback shared by the community was the desire to keep the current colours and logo. There was additional feedback that families shared about the fit and fabric weight of some items as well as feedback to consider adding some more items to our range. We will share the suggestions for these items with our supplier. The most important information is that the current uniform, the bell logo and thegreen and gold are here to stay. We are also continuing with the option for students to wear plain black pants, skirts or skorts. Our 2024 100th Birthday limited edition t-shirt is also part of our uniform. Please remember all shorts/skorts are expected to be SunSmart and provide maximum protection so please consider the length of these items when purchasing.
We appreciate your patience with this process and understand that there are many of you who have been waiting for this decision to help you decide how to allocate your School Savings Bonus, so we are glad to be sharing this information now to help you plan.
District Cross Country
This afternoon our students are representing our school in the district cross Country. We wish them all the best in this event and look forward to hearing about their experience at assembly next week.
Wishing you all a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing you next week!
