Dear Parents,

 

We have had another productive week. Lots of activities are occurring each day. We continue to remind children of the daily happenings through our morning announcements that occur in morning circle. Lots of information about what is occurring throughout the week is placed in the Newsletter to keep parents informed. At any time, if parents are unsure of anything occurring at school, please contact the office.

 

Last Thursday we held our School Cross Country. I was thrilled to see the number of children who ‘had a go’. Well done to all of our children. We are all so proud. The top 4 finishers in each age group will represent our school at the District Cross Country to be held at Mt Panorama on Wednesday 28th May. A special thank you to Mrs Burns and Mrs Francis for the coordination and organisation of the School Cross Country. The day was excellent. Bathurst Public School are the organising school for the District Cross Country.

Our School Cricket Team had a wonderful match against Eglinton Public School last Friday. Mr Thackray was impressed with the efforts of every team member either when batting or on the field. We had a terrific win at the end of the day and now head into Round 4 against Orange Public School on Thursday 22nd May. Well done to the team and Mr Thackray.

 

The CWA Public Speaking School finals were held on Monday in the McMullen Hall. The quality of the speeches was exceptional. Congratulations to all the children that participated. Our adjudicator, Mrs Bruce, was thrilled with the quality of our speakers. Thank you to Mrs Francis for coordinating the CWA Public Speaking Competition. Thank you to Mrs Bruce for her adjudication. The winners of each year group that will attend the zone finals are;

Our Dance Troupes have commenced their weekly rehearsals this week with Mrs McClements and Mrs Weekes. A reminder regarding rehearsal days for each group;

  • Wednesday Break 1 – Stage 2 dance troupe
  • Thursday Break 1 -Stage 1 dance troupe
  • Friday Break 1 – Stage 3 dance troupe

Our 10 Day Term 4 Intensive Swimming Program will occur from Monday 24th November - Friday 5th December at the Manning Aquatic Centre. The information note was published to Sentral this morning. This program will be open to all children from Kindergarten to Year 6. The children will be taught by qualified Swimming Instructors employed by the Manning Aquatic Centre. Sessions will be 45 minutes long and will run for 10 days between 9.15am. and 2.00pm. Children will be accompanied to and from the pool by school staff. The cost will be $140.00 for the 10-day program, including bus travel, facility entry, and professional instruction. This can be paid through our Sentral Parent Portal or at the front office via cash or EFTPOS. Active Kids and First Lap vouchers are not accepted this year. If you would like your child to attend, please answer the questions through the Sentral Parent Portal. Medical information is not provided or updated through the Portal. Please contact the front office with any medical updates. A deposit of $50 must be paid to secure your child's position in the program by Friday, 26th September. The final balance must be paid by Friday, 7th November. After this date, there will be no refunds. Parents will be informed of the details of their child's classes before the program commences. Parents are asked to contact the school and update their child's medical information closer to the start of the program if necessary. If parents have any further questions regarding this Intensive Swimming Program, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Mitchell, Miss Reedy or Mrs White.

 

We are looking forward to the P&C's Mother's Day Breakfast and Stall tomorrow.  A reminder that the BBQ breakfast will be ready from 7.30am and you can order and pay on the day. Cash and card are accepted. The Mother’s Day Stall will take place under the Canteen area from 7.30am-9.00am and all gifts are $5.00. If children would like to buy a gift for their mother or significant woman in the life, they can do so before 9am. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow. 

 

Year 7 2026 EOIs

Enrolment offer emails for Year 7 2026 will be sent to families who submitted an EOI at either Bathurst High Campus or Kelso High Campus between Monday, May 12th, and Friday, May 23rd, 2025.

  • Complete enrolment within the timeframe set by the Department
