OSHC Outsourcing

We are currently exploring the outsourcing of our Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) service to an external provider.

This initiative aims to improve access to OSHC services for our families, with the potential to include curriculum day care and school holiday programs.

The requirements of running a school-operated OSHC have become increasingly complex and are placing a significant drain on school resources. Across Victoria, there has been a clear shift away from school-run OSHC services, and Macedon Primary School is now the last school in the Macedon Ranges still operating its own service.

Outsourcing is not a decision we have taken lightly. To ensure we make the best possible decision for our community, we will soon be sending out a survey to gather input from both parents and staff. We are keen to hear your thoughts on what aspects of the current OSHC service are working well and should be continued, as well as any features or improvements you would like to see in a future service.

Your feedback is invaluable in helping us shape a service that best supports our students and families. Please keep an eye out for the survey and take a few moments to share your insights.

Thank you,

Andrew Bloomfield
