2026 Foundation Enrolments
We have officially begun the process for 2026 Foundation enrolments at Macedon Primary School.
We are currently holding regular school tours for prospective families, which can be booked via our school website. These tours are a great opportunity to see our school in action and learn more about what we offer.
We will also be hosting a Parent Information Night on Tuesday 27th May at 6:00pm. This session will provide an in-depth overview of our school programs, curriculum, and the transition process for Foundation students.
If you are planning to enrol your child or know someone who is considering Macedon Primary for 2026, please encourage them to book a tour and attend the information night. We look forward to welcoming our next group of Foundation families.
Inclusive Playground Update
Construction on our Inclusive Playground is now underway, and we’re excited to see the project starting to take shape.
As part of the early works, we discovered that the retaining wall was in worse condition than expected. This required a full replacement and provided an opportunity to improve drainage in the area, helping to ensure the long-term safety and durability of the space.
We’re pleased to share that the playground installation is scheduled to begin on Friday, and we hope to have the entire project completed within the next four weeks.
This playground will be a fantastic addition to our school, creating a space where all students can play, explore, and connect. We’ll continue to keep the community updated as the project progresses.
Parent Open Morning
A big thank you to all the families who joined us for our recent Parent Open Morning. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers in our classrooms, sharing in the learning and experiencing a bit of what it’s like to be a student at Macedon Primary School.
We hope you enjoyed taking part in the activities and spending time with your child in their learning environment.
A special thank you to our teachers for organising such engaging and enjoyable experiences—your efforts helped make the morning a great success.
We’re proud to celebrate the strong partnership between school and home, and we look forward to more opportunities to welcome families into our classrooms.
Professional Practice Day
A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 23 May, is our school’s Professional Practice Day. On this day, students will not attend school.
In Victorian government schools, Professional Practice Days are provided to teachers as part of their Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) to support planning, assessment, and professional learning.
We thank our families for their support and understanding as we provide our staff with this valuable time to strengthen their teaching practice.
Winter Solstice
Preparations are well underway for our Winter Solstice celebration on Friday 20th June. This is always a special event on our school calendar, bringing the community together for an evening of warmth, light and connection.
We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with the bonfire. If you are able to help, please speak to David Oxworth.
We look forward to another memorable Winter Solstice at Middle Gully.
Warm regards,
Andrew Bloomfield
