Cross Country Event

Well... what an absolutely amazing day we had for our Cross Country event! Our first whole school competition was a success with beautiful weather and some really great running.

Congratulations to all students who had a go at running the different courses.

Our grade prep students ran around the oval, completing 5 laps and the grade 1/2 students completed 10 laps.

Then our grade 3-6 students had a little longer to run, making their way through Yarraville Gardens.

Some students ran, jogged or walked the course. No matter their choice, each students made it to the finish line achieving personal goals and winning points for their House Team.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents and families who assisted with Cross Country!!

Year 6- ANZAC Commemoration Service

The Year 6 students were extremely lucky to witness the 93nd Legacy ANZAC Commemoration Service for Students at The Shrine of Remembrance.

With over 2000 students from Primary and High Schools around Victoria, our students were able to listen to many inspirational stories and history of Legacy and the importance of respect and remembrance of the brave men and women who served for our country.

Our School Captains, Fidel and Tegan, lay a wreath on behalf of the Staff and Students of St Augustine's.

LEST WE FORGET.

Prep Class News

Welcome back to Term 2.  The students have been very settled and have gotten straight back into their learning.  It was great to read their holiday diaries and they were very excited to share these with each other. These will be a great keepsake for them as they move through their primary school years.

In our learning, we have strated looking at word families and writing simple sentences focusing on proper sentence structure.  In Maths we have begun working on part - part whole relationships that form whole numbers.

This term, our Inquiry will focus on Places and the students will look at different places that exist.  In Religion, the first half of this term will focus on Jesus' Death and Resurrection.

We have many events this term beginning next week with our 3 schools combined mass and movie.    We are very excited for this day.  We look forward to a very busy but fun and productive term ahead.

Italian News

Our Year 5/6 students recently had the wonderful opportunity to write heartfelt Italian cards for the residents of Northern Gardens Aged Care. The first round of cards were delivered and warmly received by the Italian-speaking community at the facility.  The handwritten messages, accompanied by cheerful artwork, brought smiles and even a few joyful tears to the residents. It was a touching reminder of the power of small acts of kindness and the beautiful connections that can be made through language and compassion.

A second round of cards will be delivered soon, continuing this special exchange.

Grazie to all our thoughtful students—your efforts made a meaningful impact and created a truly memorable moment for the residents of Northern Gardens Aged Care.
