The eSafety Commissioner (eSafety.gov.au) has lots of great advice and resources for parents and carers to help keep young people safe online.
Year 7 Orientation Day 2026
A few weeks ago, we welcomed our newest students from across the NW coast for our Year 7 Orientation Day! From meeting teachers to exploring classrooms and making new friends, we are excited to see this group begin their high school journey. Here’s to an amazing year ahead! 🙌🏻🙏🏻
We are excited to announce that Leighland Christian School will be participating again in the Burnie Christmas Parade on Friday 12 December, and in the Ulverstone Christmas Parade on Saturday 13 December!
Last year’s parades were such a joyful highlight—full of festive spirit, laughter and wonderful community connection. We had an absolute blast, and we can’t wait to do it all again! Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to the events — exciting updates are on the way! 🎄

We are thrilled to launch bookings for the Leighland Christian School 50th Anniversary Gala at The Burnie Arts & Function Centre on Friday 21 February 2026. It will be an evening to reflect on five decades of God’s faithfulness, provision, and grace in Christian education.
Please join us for an elegant black-tie fundraising event dedicated to honouring our past, embracing our present, and investing in the future of our students and facilities. Let’s celebrate this milestone together with hope, purpose and gratitude.

Deepfake Technology
Understanding the emerging risks of deepfake technology – and how schools, parents and young people should respond.
Deepfake technology—AI tools that can manipulate images and videos—is now being misused in ways that seriously affect school communities. Apps that create fake explicit content, including of children, are increasingly being used by young people, often with devastating consequences.
Students in some schools have had their images used in fake nude photos or videos. Others have received AI-generated explicit content involving peers. These incidents can cause significant distress and confusion for families, students, and schools.
While the technology is easy to access, the harm it causes is deeply personal.
To help families understand and respond to these risks, and for further information and resources, we have provided the relevant links to the eSafety website.
Please take a moment to review these resources and talk with your child about the responsible use of technology.
