As we approach the end of a very busy year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible adventurous journey we have been on this year. Our recent Celebration Service was testament to a year that has been filled with God’s provision, student growth, challenges, adventures and countless moments of joy. It has been a privilege to witness your children learning, thriving, and developing into the unique individuals God has created them to be.

I am deeply grateful for the partnership we share as a school community. Your support, encouragement, and prayers have been instrumental in making this year a success. Together, we have worked to nurture not only academic excellence but also character, faith, and a heart for serving our school and community.

As the year draws to a close, we are farewelling some staff and looking forward to welcoming others. Our Executive Principal, Mrs Natasha Mackinnon, will be taking up a new position as Executive Principal at Plenty Valley Christian school in Victoria in 2026. I would like to thank Mrs Mackinnon for her strategic direction and the opportunities she has provided for staff and students during her time at Leighland. Please join us in praying for Natasha and her family as they settle back into life in Victoria.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to our wonderful staff. Their dedication, creativity, faith and care have been the foundation of everything we have achieved this year. They have gone above and beyond to ensure that every student feels valued and supported while learning and developing their knowledge, skills and abilities. I am truly blessed to lead such an exceptional team. I would also like to express a special thank you to our volunteers, whose generosity of time and energy has enriched our school in countless ways, from helping in classrooms to supporting events and programs. Your contributions make a real difference, and we are so blessed by your willingness to partner with us. Our School Board governs our school with integrity and faith, and I thank them for their wisdom, leadership, and commitment. Their strategic support ensures that we remain true to our mission and vision at Leighland Christian School. We have much to be thankful for and to celebrate.

This Christmas season, let us remember the true reason for our celebration, the birth of Jesus Christ, our Saviour and source of hope. In a world that can sometimes feel uncertain, the message of Christmas reminds us that our hope is secure in Him. This hope is not just for today but for every day ahead, giving us confidence as we look toward a new year filled with opportunities and possibilities, and our 50th Anniversary celebrations.

May this season be a time of peace, joy, and renewal for you and your family. I pray that your homes are filled with laughter, love, and the presence of God.

On behalf of all our staff, I wish you a happy, safe, and joyful Christmas and New Year. We look forward to welcoming you back in the new year for another season of learning, growth and celebrations.

Blessings,

Katrina McNab
