Principal's Message
Kaileen Carr
We are looking forward to seeing you at our annual Presentation Day assembly next Monday (8 December), at Denison College - Bathurst High Campus. After the assembly all students will return to school on the buses. If you need to pick your child up following the assembly, you must sign your child out from school.
This week will be our final primary assembly for the year. There are numerous awards to present so the assembly will start right on time.
On Tuesday we will be holding an Eglinton school end of year fun day. This will replace individual class parties. Students from K-6 will be watching movies and participating in various sporting activities throughout the day delivered by Sport Development Officers. Students are to bring lunch and recess as normal and a treat for movie time. Students will be asked not to share food.
We are seeing quite a few children riding bikes and scooters to school which is fantastic. Please ensure your child is wearing a helmet if they are riding to school. Also, they are to walk their bikes and scooters across the pedestrian crossing and into school.
Can you please remind your children about Stanger danger.

Chess Club 2025
Well done to all our players for their great sportsmanship, determination, and enthusiasm this year in Chess Club. The Chess Club has been a great opportunity for students to develop critical thinking and build confidence. Congratulations to our Stage 3 Chess Club winner, Rylie Davidson, and runner-up, Levi Robinson, for demonstrating excellent strategy and focus throughout the competition. In Stage 2, Prue Edwards claimed the championship with Josiah Theron as a strong runner-up, both showcasing impressive skills.

International Day of People with Disability with Eglinton Public School
International Day of People with Disability is a United Nations day observed on 3 December each year to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability.
There are 5.5 million people with disabilities in Australia – that is 1 in 5 people. By acknowledging this important day, we can take action to remove barriers for people with disabilities in Australia and contribute to positive change in our classrooms and our community.
This year Eglinton Public School recognised IDPwD through activities within classrooms. Together, we can all take action to challenge perceptions about disability. We can also help remove barriers and promote inclusive and respectful attitudes and behaviors in our community. For more information about IDPwD, visit idpwd.com.au
