Changes to Morning Drop Off Arrangements

As we prepare for the start of 2026, we will be introducing a new morning drop-off model, which will be trialled throughout Term One. This change follows recent clarification of staff EBA arrangements, which highlighted that teacher face-to-face supervision has been exceeding requirements. The revised structure ensures we meet supervision obligations while maintaining a purposeful and settled start to learning each day.
What this means for families:
- Drop-off from 8:30 am: Students can arrive from 8:30 am, where they will be supervised in the school yard until the start of the day at 8:45am.
- Gates open:
- The main Bunney Road gate and the Springs Road gate will open from 8:30 am.
- The crossing gate will now be the designated primary drop-off gate.
- The hall gate will no longer be used for morning drop-off.
- Drop-off zone: The car drop-off zone will continue to operate from 8:30 am as usual, student will be directed to the crossing gate.
- Additional supervision: To support safety and smooth arrivals, additional staff will be supervising all drop-off areas each morning.
Start of the school day:
- All students will line up on the basketball courts between the office and B Building (uniform shop).
- Teachers will collect their class from this area and walk students to the classroom by 8:45 am.
- St Andrew’s Prayer will be broadcast at 8:50 am, followed by roll marking.
- Formal learning will commence at 8:55 am sharp.
We thank you for your assistance and support as we implement these arrangements. This model will operate as a trial for Term One, after which it will be reviewed with staff and community feedback.
