Year 7 Transition Days

In November, our 2026 Year 7 students completed three transition days. New students preparing to join Christway were buddied with current students for an introduction to secondary school life. They had the opportunity to try a range of subjects, from maths and English to Robotics and PE.
During Music, students explored different instruments before selecting their preferences for the Year 7 Band Program. In science and STEAM, they were introduced to the laboratories, where they learned how to characterise acids and bases, collaborated on building designs, and evaluated their results.
Some of the students shared their thoughts after the transition days:
- “I’m excited but nervous. I liked the transition days, and it was really fun getting to know people.”
- “It was good to see the new students and find out what we’re doing next year.”
- “I liked the different activities and how we did experiments in science and STEAM.”
“Transition was very fun, especially having a whole new range of subjects.”
We look forward to officially welcoming all the Year 7s to secondary in the new year.
