Inverell High School Open Girls Cricket Team - Regional Final Victory!
On Friday 5th December, the Inverell High School Open Girls Cricket Team — Hollie W, Milly M, Olivia P, Ali P, Emma C, Jessica C, Megan S, Alice T, Isabella T, Addison E & Cobi-Lee S — faced Warialda High School in the Regional Final of the CHS Open Girls Cricket Knockout at Nicholson Oval, Warialda.
Despite losing the toss and fielding first, our girls showed incredible skill and teamwork. Hollie W and Ali P struck early, triggering a batting collapse that ended with Warialda all out for 62 runs. Outstanding bowling figures:
Hollie W 4/12
Milly M 4/17
Jessica C 1/5
Ali P 1/17
In the chase, Hollie (30 runs) and Milly led the charge to reach 65 runs with 4 wickets remaining, sealing a fantastic win for IHS!
Special mentions to Milly M for her 4 wickets and dominant batting, and Hollie W for her all-round excellence with both ball and bat.
This victory propels us into the top 16 teams in the state! Next stop: likely Bathurst in February 2026.
Huge thanks to Mr Simon Smith (umpiring), Mrs Amanda Woodbury (scoring), and Mr Partridge (bus driver), plus a shoutout to Warialda High for their great competition and sportsmanship.
Go IHS!
