As the culmination of the year, last night’s Presentation Evening was a celebration of students' accomplishments, love of learning, creative talent, and service to others. Congratulations to all involved, in particular, those involved in the liturgy, our musicians for their beautiful performances, the student AV crew and to all award recipients. A special acknowledgement to the following students who were awarded scholarships and Magis awards for their commitment and contribution to College life this year and through their time at the College.

We farewelled our Year 10 students today following a week of alternative activities designed to support their transition into the senior years, including the Rotary Driver Education training day on Wednesday and the Micah Cup today. Thank you to Mr Tim Chaney, Year 10 Homeroom Teachers and House Coordinators for organising an engaging program through the week, and we wish Year 10 students a safe and enjoyable holiday break.
Students in Years 7 to 9 will continue classes and normal timetable for Monday to Wednesday next week with a focus on some cross-curricular learning, culminating for Year 7 students with an excursion to Perth Zoo, for Year 8s an excursion to Herdsman Lake Environmental Centre and for Year 9s a team building day at XLR8 Bald. Term 4 will conclude on Thursday, when students will participate in Mass to commence the day, followed by House activities, year group assemblies, Homeroom farewells and a general clean up. Students may wear sports uniform with House shirts on the day.
2025 Companions Yearbook distribution
Families can look forward to receiving the 2025 Companions Yearbook early next year. All Year 12 students will receive their copy via mail over the holiday break. For all other families, the youngest child in the family will receive the yearbook at the start of Term 1, 2026.
2026 Secondary Parent Information Evening
Save the date for Thursday, 19 February, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm for our annual Parent Information Evening. This will be a great opportunity for parents to access a variety of presentations regarding their child’s year ahead and other relevant topics. More information will be provided in the new year.
Streamlining parents’ online College experience: digital updates for 2025 and 2026
Over the coming months, the College is upgrading its online platforms to assist families more efficiently access College information and manage student details.
A trusted provider in schools and across Australia and New Zealand of a digital solution to enable parents to keep their child’s health records accurate and provide consent for school events, excursions and camps, Consent2Go will be implemented in readiness for Term 1 2026.
Thank you to parents who have updated their child’s contact and health information in readiness for implementation. Parents have until Friday 19 December to complete this user-friendly process that will take approximately 10 minutes. In the future, this will become a yearly process to keep information current.
Social Media Age Restrictions
In preparation for the upcoming social media restrictions for students under the age of 16 years, students in Years 7 to 10 in recent weeks have engaged in discussions and activities to help them prepare for these changes. This included practical strategies to prepare for the transition and alternative ways to maintain social connections, particularly over the summer holidays. Thank you to our Assistant Deputy Principals and Homeroom Teachers in these years for facilitating constructive conversations to help prepare students for the changes.
The eSafety Commissioner website provides excellent resources for parents on the legislation and digital wellbeing and safety in general. SchoolTV has also published a Special Report: New Social Media Regulations: What you need to know as a helpful resource for parents.

Semester Two Reports
Year 11 Semester Two Reports will be available to download from SEQTA Documents on Monday, 8 December, from 3:30pm onwards.
Years 7 to 10 Semester Two Reports will be available to download from SEQTA Documents on Thursday, 11 December, from 3:30pm onwards.
This reporting information will be important for students and families to review and reflect on areas of strength and areas of growth prior to the start of the 2026 academic year.

Is your child using the Southern Route Charter Bus in 2026?
With the Fremantle Traffic Bridge closing from February 2026, adjustments will be made to the College’s Southern Route charter service. Parents are asked to review the proposed 2026 timetable and route and provide feedback by Friday, 12 December 2025. More details available here.

End-of-Term Library hours update
Please note the updated Library closing times for the remainder of Term 4.
- Week 9 (Monday, 8 December to Wednesday, 10 December): The library closes at 5:00pm
Thursday 11 December (last day): Library closes at 3:30pm.
The alumni tutors are not attending after-school for the remainder of the term, as the examination period has finished for students in Years 10 to 12.
SPORT
Years 7/8 Water Polo
On Thursday 27 November, our Years 7/8 Boys’ Water Polo teams showcased their talent and determination at the School Sport WA (SSWA) Competition. Both teams delivered outstanding performances against strong opposition.
- A Team fought hard throughout the day and secured an impressive second place finish, demonstrating exceptional teamwork and resilience.
- B Team also performed brilliantly, finishing in fourth place, a fantastic achievement in a highly competitive field.
On Friday 28 November, our Years 7/8 Girls Water Polo team were undefeated for the day. They won all games, including the all-important Grand Final against Applecross 8 – 3, after scores were tied at 3-3 at half-time. The team displayed excellent sportsmanship and teamwork, giving their best efforts throughout the entire day. A fantastic result for JTC Water Polo.
Congratulations to all players for their commitment and sportsmanship, and a big thank you to Mr Morris, Ms Power, Mr Tirant and supporters who helped make this success possible. We are proud of all teams for representing the College with such enthusiasm and skill!
First XI Cricket
John XXIII College is a part of the Graeme Wood Shield, WA's Twenty20 School Cricket Competition. We are calling students who will be in Years 10, 11 or 12 in 2026 to register interest. Students must be able to commit to one morning training per week and after school games, most likely Tuesdays. Games typically commence at 2:00pm, which means students will miss periods 5 and 6 classes on game day.
ACC Year Book 2025
The ACC Yearbook is out, and we are proud to be part of such an outstanding association! Being involved in ACC provides our students with incredible opportunities to compete at the highest level, develop teamwork and leadership skills, and experience the spirit of sportsmanship across a wide range of events.
Through ACC, our students not only showcase their talents but also build lasting friendships and learn the value of commitment and resilience. We are grateful for the chance to participate in such a wonderful sporting community that celebrates excellence and inclusion.
Congratulations
Congratulations to student Elena on an incredible season! Representing Australia at the Youth Kite World Championship 2025 in Spain, Elena placed third in the U19 Women’s division against strong international competition. Back home, she continued her success by taking first place in the U18 Division at the Kiteboarding WA State Wave Titles 2025.
