Year 7 

We welcomed the Year 7 class of 2024 on 1 February. Students settled in well to the routine of High School and looked fantastic in their new uniform. 

PDHPE 

In accordance with the DoE Policy for excursions, all students are required to complete the annual water safety test to enable their participation in water activities. Students completed the test on 8 & 15 February. 

 

Year 7 students are doing swimming for sport each Wednesday in Term 1. It is an opportunity for students to improve their swimming stroke and learn additional water safety tools. 

 

It is wonderful to see our students utilising the facilities at the youth precinct for Wednesday sport.

NAPLAN

Students in Years 7 & 9 will complete their literacy & numeracy assessments from 13-18 March in the MPU. We will hold catchups in Library 19-22 March for any student who is absent.

Science

Year 8 Science students measured the boiling rate of water in their lesson with Mr Robson in week 2. 

Multicategorical

Miss Hudson's MC11 students proudly displaying their sensory gardens. Students have painted & planted a number of plants & succulents which are now displayed around the school.

 

Ms Hudson students were put to task last week. After a hard morning learning they took a brain break & learnt how to fold a shirt. 

A great hands on learning experience.

Construction

Congratulations to Yr 12 Construction student Kirah Johnston who has demonstrated some excellent tiling skills.

A busy full week of 2024 for our Year 11 student’s in Mr Sproule construction lesson. We look forward to keeping you updated on their progress.

Music

It is great to see our Yr 7 students taking advantage of Mr Ryan’s fantastic lunch time music opportunities!

Careers

Congratulations to Adele and Tahlia have been signed up as school-based trainees with Hunter New England Health to start their Cert III in Human Services (Nursing). Scarlet and Macy had their first orientation day commencing the same qualification through the EVET pathway on 14 February. Well done girls.
