St Margaret Mary’s Netball

 

It’s time to start thinking about Netball for the Winter netball competition!  So, start chatting amongst your year groups and see if you can get a team together for the 2024 competition.  

 

St Margaret Mary’s is eligible to register teams from grade 2 to grade 6 in the Eastern Suburbs Combined Primary School Netball Association (ESCPSNA) competition which runs throughout Term 2 and Term 3. 

 

What do you need to know?

  • Games are played each Saturday (except school holidays and any Saturday of long weekends)
  • Games are played at Waverley Netball courts – Birrell Street, Waverley
  • A team can consist of girls and boys (no more then 3 boys) 
  • It is recommended a minimum of 9 players are registered per team and a maximum of 10 players.  
  • Registration is approximately $150 per player per year
  • Games commence the first Saturday of Term 2
  • Players must commit to training once a week
  • Registered teams will require someone to coach once a week and manage the team during Term 2 and 3 – usually a parent of one of the players in the team
  • Registered players will receive a netball uniform
  • Registered teams will receive training equipment including balls, bibs, ball pumps, water bottle carrier

 

Below are approximate times of when team could be playing: 

Year 6 (Opens) usually play approx. 7.30 / 8.35

Year 5's play 8.35 / 9.40

Year 4's play 9.40 / 10.45 / 11.50 

Year 3's play 11.50 / 13.00 

Year 2's play 13.00 / 14.00 / 15.00

Student spotlight 

Congratulations to Francessca Rugendyke in year 4 who competed at the regional athletics on Sunday. Frenchie came 1st in the 800m, 2nd in the 400m and 4th in the 200m and 8th in the 100m. She has now qualified for State level which is outstanding. Fantastic work Frenchie! We look forward to you competing in the STMM colours at the athletics this year.
