Each Tuesday afternoon, our Year 6's come together with the Prep-1 class to build relationships and leadership skills and do an activity together. This week, students worked together to collect the fallen Autumn leaves and create some 2D pictures.
Upper school Electives
Anna's new group of photography students went for a walk on Wednesday afternoon. They spent time exploring how to use the cameras and were blessed with sunshine, shadows and late autumn colours.
The Intergenerational Gardening Program continued with a new group of Year 4 and 5 students on Wednesday. They managed to identify and look after some of the seedlings that the Year 6s planted with their leader from the 'older' generation.
Pumpkin Soup will be on offer next Thursday at lunchtime lovingly cooked by our Kitchen Garden students. Please bring along $5 for a cup of soup and some yoghurt flatbread.
The Year 6s began their Maker's Empire journey with Steph as part of their Kids in Space competition that they will enter later in the year. The Victorian Showcase will be held in August in Melbourne. Makers Empire is fun and easy to use 3D design software. The first lot of 3D printing happened in class on Thursday morning. Exciting times!
Younger Years Rotations
A new 3 week rotation commenced on Monday afternoon. Kim began a science rotation with the Year 3s, Ellen started a STEM rotation with the Year 2s and Kathryn began a new Kitchen Garden unit with the Prep/1s on Monday afternoon. They searched the garden for, learned about, and drew pictures of spiders. They are looking forward to doing some cooking next week.
