Resource Centre

As term 3 comes to a close, I would like to thank families for all they do in supporting our efforts to build the capacity of our students - whether it be through supporting and encouraging reading by participating in initiatives like the NSW Premier's Reading Challenge to raising money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation. To the enjoyable and fun event like our Annual Character Parade. These events and programs would not be possible without the participation behind the scenes.

NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge

Thank you to  families for supporting their child by entering the books they read onto the Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) website.

Since i began at Moama Anglican Grammar, this year the largest number of students showed interest and completed the challenge. The numbers are as follows:

  • Nearly 50 students registered their interest in participating in the PRC.
  • When the Challenged finished in August there were 30 students who had engaged with the website.
  • I was able to Validate 28 students at the end of last week.

Thank you to the Parents and Friends for the work they put into creating the advertisements, collecting donations of preloved books and for  running the  “Moama Anglican Grammar Great Book Swap '' yesterday in the Resource Centre. .

The money that was raised yesterday from the The Great Book Swap will be added to the donations collected during Book Week and donated to Indigenous Literacy Foundation to support literacy development in remote indigenous communities.
