R U OK?
Simple steps that could change a life!
Next week on Thursday 14 September, we are going to be celebrating R U OK? Day. We will do this by wearing a touch of yellow with our school uniform. We will also learn about the four steps to being a good friend – ask, listen, encourage action and check in.
R U OK? Day is designed to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them. The best part is, you don’t need any qualifications, just a being a good friend and a great listener is all it takes to check in and be a friend.
At school, every day, we acknowledge that all feelings are ok and that teaching our SWPBS values alongside Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships helps to make compassion something we can all understand and show in everything that we do.
The R U OK? Day website has some amazing resources and ideas, like the one above, to support you to reach out in a supportive way or to explore channels of support.
