Sport and Campus News

SACSA Netball

The South Australian Christian Schools Association (SACSA) Year 5/6 Netball Carnival was held at the Golden Grove Netball courts on Wednesday the 23rd August. It was a great day with the girls winning 3 games and drawing one. The team progressed to the semi finals where they lost. The game for 3rd position went into overtime and we lost by a goal in the last 30 seconds. The girls finished 4th out of 19 teams in their division, an outstanding achievement.

Campus Sports Clinics

Throughout the first 6 weeks of Term 3 we have had visits from SEDA College students to deliver sports clinics. SEDA is a Sport focused school where student interests are at the forefront of their Senior Secondary education, alongside a practical connection to industry. Students at SEDA are able to gain first-hand insight into what it is like to be a part of South Australia’s leading organisations and sporting clubs.

We have been lucky enough to have the SEDA Cricket, Football (AFL) and Netball classes visit for around 3 sessions respectively. We look forward to having their Basketball class visit in Term 4.

Premier's Be Active Challenge

This is a reminder to families that the Premier's be active Challenge is still open and running.

The Premier's be active Challenge is a physical activity program introduced by the Premier in 2007 to:

  • Encourage students to be more active more often
  • Improve the health and wellbeing of South Australian students.

The Challenge requires students to do at least 60 minutes of physical activity on at least 5 days of the week for at least 4 weeks between the beginning of the school year and late September. After 4 weeks of daily physical activity, students will be rewarded with a medal. The challenge closes in Week 10 of term 3 so there is still plenty of time to complete it. If you do wish to complete the challenge, please find attached a copy of the recording booklet or visit the Pilgrim Front office to collect one. For more information on the challenge please visit the below website.

Second Hand Uniform Sales

With Devon having limited stock this term and our new uniform supplier starting next term, we are experiencing greater demand for second hand uniform items. If you have clean uniform items in great condition that your family no longer needs, please consider contributing them to the second hand uniform pool. Families receive 50% of sales with the other 50% going towards P&F funds.

While the last of our roof restoration is occurring, our second hand uniform pool is not directly accessible, but please let the Front Office staff know if you need an item and they will find an opportunity to check stock for you. We appreciate your patience during this time.
