Dancing Queens/ Kings in 5G

Over the last 5 weeks (with a break for the mini writing festival) the Year 5 students have been participating in the Footsteps dance program. Each Tuesday the students have joined Bridget from Footsteps to learn a choregraphed dance for 40 minutes. They have learnt musical timing, pace and most importantly- to give something new a go! It was awesome to see how some students went from shy and unwilling to participate in the beginning, to being up the front of the group and giving it their all during our final sessions!

5G had a wonderful time during their Footsteps session, with session 3 being a group favourite. According to Reece, Barry, Zach and Sonny, the ‘Michael Jackson- Hee Hee (high pitched of course!)” was the dance move of the year!! 

It was awesome to see Bridget add in some of the student’s favourite things, such as basketball into the dance moves. Pippa and Ayda particularly enjoyed that!
