This week in Reading we are learning to analyse and critique a text.

VOCABULARY

Analyse: look at something in detail, typically in order to explain and interpret it.

Critique: to explain what you liked or disliked about something and provide details/evidence. 

Opinion: a view or judgement of something.

ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

After reading a book with your child, ask them if they liked the book. 

Can they explain why or why not? 

Can they show you some of the illustrations or text that helped them to understand the book?
