Junior School
Wellbeing
In Grade 1, we have been learning about what it means to feel 'stress' and how we can better manage these feelings and emotions. There were some situations that we remembered feeling a bit stressed, such as our first day of school at Weeden Heights and when we are about to do our oral presentations in front of the class.
Using balloons and flour, we made DIY stress balls as one way to help manage stress better! It got a bit messy, but we had a lot of fun and drew funny faces on them.
Marika came to read us a book about feelings and showed us lots of fun breathing exercises that we can practise to calm down too!
Buddies
With our buddies we read the picture book, Enemy Pie, by Derek Munson and loved it! We talked about all the qualities that a good friend would have and created a delicious Friendship Pie recipe together. Come and have a look at some of them up on the wall along the Junior School corridor!
Inquiry Learning
In Grade 1 and 2, our focus for Inquiry Learning this term is "People, Places and Connections". We have been learning about the world we live in, starting by looking at the continents of the world. We especially loved learning the continents through this super catchy song!
