School Council President

Hi everyone,

I hope you have settled well back into term 4!  It's hard to believe we are only 2 months from Christmas and that another year is drawing to a close.

Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone who helped with our working bee on Sunday 22nd October – the turnout was so good we were finished in about 90 minutes! Seeing the school community coming together to help with the front and back gardens was great and the school looks much better for all the hard work put in at the working bee.

It’s also great to see that our capital works continue to push ahead, and everything is looking very real, now that much of the building works have been completed.  I can’t wait to see the end results; Weeden Heights will look phenomenal when it's all finished, which is getting closer and closer.

I don’t know about you, but I am still on a high from our school production!  It was truly an absolute highlight to see our community come together the way we all did, and both the students and teachers were amazing on the night.  It has to be close to the best event I've attended in my five years so far at Weeden Heights, and I cannot wait for the next one - well done to everyone involved!

Don’t forget you can buy the video of the production on QKR, and there are photos to purchase also – you can see the photos on the hall window and select the ones you want to buy in QKR.

Looking ahead to the rest of the term, we have school swimming at the end of October, Family Maths Night on 2nd November, the PFA colour run coming up on November 20th, which is always a highlight of the year, prep transitions, our Christmas concert on December 7th and Year 6 graduations the week after – it sure is going to be busy as we roll into Christmas!

I am also hopeful that our last two school council meetings of 2023 will be in person in November and December.  We met last week and discussed everything happening at Weeden Heights.  If any of you are interested in attending a meeting as an interested visitor or want to discuss joining the school council, please let me know.  It’s a highly rewarding role within our school.

I hope you are all safe and well and have a wonderful weekend.
