Book Week @ WSC
In August we celebrated book week here at Wollert Secondary College.
Book Week is an opportunity to celebrate and explore literacy in all forms. Young people will often engage in school events to express their interest in their favourite books, authors and genres.
We ran a daily riddle for the students to guess the book titles. At lunchtime the students were welcomed into the library to be part of a Book Week Activity, using images for the students to work out the titles of the books.
They were also sent on a “book hunt” to find various book genres on the shelves and books from various authors.
It was so great to see so many students get involved and participate in both the daily riddle and the lunchtime library activity. There were many delicious treats for all the participants to enjoy!!!
The students did an amazing job working in groups (some on their own) to complete the activity and make their way around the library looking for titles.
During Book Week we saw many students come into the library and it was amazing to watch how they navigated their way around the space and explore the amazing selection of resources and titles we have available for them here at Wollert Secondary College.
We look forward to celebrating bigger and better in the years ahead. Here are some photos of the day!!
