A Visit from the SA Police Road Safety Division

Constable Dowdell and Constable Krawczyk, of the South Australian Police Road Safety Division, visited our preschool over two days in Week 9, to engage the children in conversations and presentations about Road Safety. We learned about the different types of officers who help keep us safe in our community, and the clothing they wear. We also discovered our right to ask to see a police officer’s badge, to know they are a real police officer. We learned about safe areas to play, how to cross the road, what to wear and do to protect ourselves on bikes and scooters, how to stay safe travelling in a car and what road signs mean. Then we took our bikes and scooters out to the Quad to practice our new skills, navigating a mock roadway with signs, crossings and traffic lights.
