Last weekend Residential staff commented on how students were extremely helpful and well-behaved, making it a very enjoyable weekend for everyone.

On Friday night students were served chicken parmi, chips and salad for dinner before being offered a trip to Time Zone, the movies or Eaton Fair. As always, students decided to go to Eaton for the usual Friday night shopping trip.

Saturday morning saw everyone travel to Busselton to check out the marine life at the Underwater Observatory at the jetty. After spending time looking around everyone returned to the beach. The weather became overcast, but that didn't stop the students and Brenton from going for a swim before lunch. On the way back to the College there was a quick stop off at the Boyanup Bakery to stock up on snacks.

That afternoon the trailer was loaded with a BBQ, esky, table and chairs before heading up to the Equine paddock to have a bonfire and watch the sunset. Students cooked a beautiful BBQ dinner and spent the evening listening to music and roasting marshmallows.

It was a slow start to the day on Sunday morning. A trip to the cinema was offered but students preferred to relax at the College with some choosing to watch a movie in the TV room, while others played Monopoly.

Dining Room

This week we have had further issues in the dining room with food being removed and wasted by leaving it in the rubbish bin and around the campus. Fruit is being used as missiles which is terribly wasteful and is usually left for someone else to clean up.

We have had ongoing issues with the overuse and wastage of Milo in the dining room, resulting in Mr Pfitzner withdrawing its availability until next term. As a result of the excess usage we asked the kitchen to give us the amount and the cost.

So far for 2023, we have consumed 384 x 1.9kg tins of Milo. This equates to a staggering 729.6kg of Milo!

Using a 20-gram serve equates to 18,240 individual servings of Milo.

This is a staggering cost to the College of $10,087.68, all in 28 weeks of the year. If we were to lay the tins out end to end it would measure in excess of 88 meters.

2023 Leaver's Talk

Last night we had Issac Powell and Nick Hamer from the Yarloop Police attend the College and speak with our Year 12 students about Leavers and how to look after themselves and each other whilst there. We really appreciate them taking the time to come and share knowledge and experience with our students about issues like this. Thanks very much.

Year 12 Dinner

Next Thursday night we have the Year 12 dinner at Brugan in Wokalup. This is the final opportunity for the students to have a meal together before all heading off in different directions in their lives. It is always a great night and all students, including Day students will be transported to and from the venue by the College bus.

Year 12 Departure

A sign-out form will soon be available for Year 12 students to indicate when they would like to depart the College next Friday 22nd September. Students will be eligible to depart at their specific times from 8.00 am.

The expectation is that we are the final point of clearance before signing out and departing from the College.
