CHS Athletics Meet - Wednesday 6th of September

All the best to our GIHS student-athletes who participated in the ‘CHS Athletics Meet’ in Sydney! We hope you had safe travels and enjoyed the experience. 

 

 

Here is a snap of the Glen Innes and Armidale 14-year girls' relay teams. 

DAY ONE CHS ATHLETICS

  • Kaitlyn Casson - 13th overall in the 14s girls 200m and a PB. Her dedication to training has paid off, congrats Kaitlyn.
  • Imogen Biddle scored a spot in the 13s girls 800m final - go Immy!
  • Jasmine Klingner and Mary Arandale were also in the 800m heat! Mary progressed to the final - well done girls.
  • Emily Poulton 9th in her 800m gear and loving the experience.
  • Dustin McBain in the big smoke for the 800m event also!
  • Kayden Elliott 7th overall in the 3000m, ran in an age group up (17+) so that’s an awesome result. There was also a finals berth in the 800m for Kayden.

All the best to our 800m finalists at CHS Athletics - Imogen, Mary and Kayden.

Poppi-Lee Proctor in action in the Long Jump at CHS Athletics. Well done Poppi. Leo Eastwood ran a strong 800m. Maisie Eastwood competed in Long Jump and Triple Jump.

Lloyd Newbury - competed in the14s Javelin. Payten Ward threw an awesome PB in the 13s girls shot put . Kaitlyn Casson 11th in long jump, 6th in 100m heat. Kayden Elliott 4th in the 16s boys 800m final - after qualifying as 2nd fastest for the final. So close to a medal for this event - well done! Wonderful experiences are being enjoyed by all!

Lloyd Newbury - a finalist in 13s boys Javelin! Wow, how great is that! Very cool and clever! Congrats Lloyd! 

Brooke, Maisie, Mia and Charlotte in the open girls relay event. Only just missing out on a spot in the finals. Be proud girls- we are!

CONGRATULATIONS Kayden Elliott silver medalist in the 16s boys 1500m. We are so thrilled for you Kayden, cheering for you as we watched it on the screen and witnessed that awesome final lap you ran to gain 2nd place!  Wow!

This ‘speedster’, Kaitlyn Casson made it to the 100m 14s girls finals and came 10th. The best ever result for Kaitlyn as she has grown as a sprinter over her years in athletics. Wonderful result for you Kaitlyn and well deserved.

Our fit duo Taylor Weir and Mary Arandale after competing in the 14s girls 1500m track event. It was a very fast race with a very spread out group of runners. Our GIHS girls did themselves proud!

Open Boys North West Cricket Team - Monday 11th of September

Congratulations to Howie Eastwood who has successfully gained selection in the Open Boys North West Cricket Team. This is the second time Howie has made the selection in the regional team and is keen to further advance his cricketing prowess with this next opportunity under the coaching guidance of Andrew Curry.
