Physical Education

Dear Parents, students, and colleagues! It’s time to share the latest highlights from our Physical Education program at Aitken Hill Primary School. I am delighted to provide an overview of the fantastic activities and achievements form each year levels.

Prep students: Building foundations and collaboration

Our youngest athletes in Prep have been off to an exciting start! They've been working on developing their fundamental motor skills by focusing on kicking and stopping a ball. This has not only improved their physical abilities but has also fostered collaboration as they engage in group activities. It's heart-warming to see their teamwork and enthusiasm in action.

Grade 1 /2 students: Skill development and fun games

In Grade 1 /2, students have been diving into skill-based activities and games. They've been learning the art of striking, specifically focusing on the forehand strike and two-handed strike techniques. These skills not only enhance their coordination but also set the stage for participation in various racquet and bat sports. Our students have truly embraced the joy of movement and competition in these activities.

Grade 3 /4: Soccer mastery and teamwork

Our grade 3 /4 students have been immersed in soccer-based activities this year. It's been an exciting journey as they've become acquainted with a structured soccer program. Their hard work has paid off, with remarkable progress in ball control and teamwork. These fundamental skills will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for their future involvement in soccer and other team sports. Moreover, they've been perfecting their dribbling skills, which are essential for soccer and overall motor development.

Grade 5/6: SEPEP Program

Our grade 5 /6 sports class have been hard at work learning soccer skills and forming their own teams. They’re taken on roles as coaches, manages and statisticians. In the coming weeks, they will run training sessions, leading to an exciting soccer competition between the teams. This hands-on experience promotes teamwork and empowers our students to excel as young athletes. Stay tuned for more updates on their journey.
