Principal's Report

Our House Spirt

We began working with Our House Spirit in Term 1 this year. Our House Spirit works with schools and in particular student leaders to implement fun and engaging activities for students and the school community.

Last term our student leaders worked with the team from Our House Spirit to run a House Spirit Day. All students were in their house colours on the day and participated in a 2 hour session with 4 zones,  music, art, sport and party games. It was great to see everyone dressed up in our house colours!

This term our student leaders are planning a special game of dodgeball for our Year 6s. They will play against teachers as part of their final activities at primary school. The rest of the school will be spectators and they will design flags and other items in their house colour and cheer on their team colours.

We will share more information in the coming weeks about this special day for our Year 6s and our school.

New Building

Work on our new building will begin in the coming weeks. Fences have been placed around the site area and this will mean for the next 12 months everyone will have to be patient whilst navigating their way around the school.

Below you will find a link to some of the architects drawings of the building. The building will be completed at the end of 2024 ready for use in 2025. The building consists of 8 classrooms, 2 STEM rooms and a large library which can also be used as a meeting space for teachers and for parent sessions. The building also has a number of meeting spaces for staff to access.

This building is part of the Department of Education's new school expansion project.

Playground, Paths, Walkways, Garden and Musical Instruments

There has been a delay in our new Year 3-6 playground due to a change in design by the architects. The design has been changed to a ninja course to reflect the interest of our students.

We are hoping that the playground, paths, walkways and garden near the sandpit and musical instruments in the learning street will be completed by the end of the year. This project was funded by the Department of Education's Inclusive Schools Fund.

New Paths

New paths have been installed from the gate closest to the playground and softball car park. This will help with access to before and after school care late in Term 4 and for 2024 as there will be no access via the softball car park for before and after care due to the new building works.
