This week in writing we are learning to write  a narrative that considers the audience and purpose. 


VOCABULARY

Narrative: A story.

 

Orientation: Introduces the setting, the characters and the situation. It's the who, what, where of the story.

 

Purpose: An author's purpose may be to amuse the reader, to persuade the reader or to inform the reader.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

 

Have your child write an orientation using the picture prompt from last week.

 

Using the plan created from last week, write an orientation that starts in the action that considers the audience and purpose.
