Learning and Teaching in 1/2RG

OUR TOP TEN OF TERM 3!

As we wrap up a fantastic Term 3, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the amazing highlights that our class, 1/2RG, had the privilege of experiencing.

NUMBER TEN: Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day

We had a heartwarming day celebrating grandparents and special friends. We read the beautiful story 'Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge' and afterward, we took some time to reminisce about the cherished memories we've created with our grandparents and special friends. To capture these precious moments, we created lovely drawings in frames. We decorated these with the help of our special people.

NUMBER NINE: PMP (Perceptual Motor Program)

PMP was an absolute blast! We spent time improving our coordination and motor skills while having tons of fun.

NUMBER EIGHT: Billy Cart Incursion

Our Billy Cart Incursion was an action-packed adventure! We delved into the science of motion and forces, learning about concepts like push, pull and gravity. The highlight, of course, was the opportunity to hop behind the wheel of real billy carts! We also had a chance to channel our inner inventors as we followed the design process to create our very own cars and machines.

NUMBER SEVEN: Mascot Challenge

The Mascot Challenge has been a daily dose of fun! For ten minutes each day, we practiced with stress balls, honing our skills in catching, throwing, and bouncing.

NUMBER SIX: Kitchen Garden Program

Our Kitchen Garden Program was a culinary delight! We relished the experience of picking fresh ingredients from our veggie patch, cooking delicious dishes and, most importantly, enjoying the scrumptious food we prepared. We also had a blast with the Masterchef Smelling Challenge, where we had to identify mystery ingredients by smell alone.

NUMBER FIVE: Making Cars

Creating our own cars was an exciting journey! We transformed recycled materials like old boxes, bottles, skewers and straws into amazing cars. We also put our thinking caps on to understand how things move and how forces like push and pull work.

NUMBER FOUR: Swimming Program

Our swimming program was a splashing success! We worked hard to improve our swimming skills while learning essential water safety tips. We had so much fun during every swimming session and thoroughly enjoyed riding the bus each day.

NUMBER THREE: Information Reports - Animals

We became little researchers and authors as we created information reports about animals. Each of us chose an animal we were curious about, read books to gather interesting facts and then shared our newfound knowledge through engaging presentations like posters, Canva presentations and Google slideshows.

NUMBER TWO: Book Week

Book Week transported us into magical realms! We dressed up in captivating costumes, explored enchanting stories and engaged in fun and creative activities inspired by the books we adore.

NUMBER ONE: School Concert

The School Concert was the highlight of our term! We worked collaboratively as a team, dedicating ourselves to learning and perfecting our performances. The joy of sharing our talents with the school and our families was something we will always cherish and remember.

Thank you for taking this journey through our Term 3 adventures with us. We thank our parents for their amazing support along the way. We've had a blast participating in these incredible moments and we hope you enjoyed hearing about them just as much.

Wishing you all a fantastic term break. We can't wait to see what Term 4 holds!

Warm regards,

1/2RG
