Monash Waverley Division Athletics

This year SJV had 14 students qualify for the Monash Waverley Divsion Athletics event.  The Division event is the next level up from District level.  Our Division consists of around 40 schools in the area.  Competing at this level is not only challenging but also a great learning experience.

Our students who competed were:

Aiden, Dina, Samuel, Adrain, Noura, Duke, Caris, Keziah, Angelika, Karissa, Krishay, Sofia and Isabelle.

All of our students performances today made me very proud to be a teacher at St John Vianney's.  They all showed great effort, persistence, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. Making it through to Division level is a great accomplishment.  Students who finished first or second at Division qualify for the next level of School Athletics which is the Regional level.  This year we had 2 students achieve this!!

Dina finished second in the 10 year old girls Triple Jump - which means she has qualified for the Regional Athletics to be held on the 19th October.

Caris was first in 10 year old girls Discus with an amazing throw of 25.69m!  This throw is an SJV school record! She also finished second in the 10 year old girls 100m final - this means she will compete at Regionals in 2 events - an amazing effort!

We wish both girls all the best at Regionals!
