SJV Fete

The Fete this year will be held on Saturday 21st October from 10am - 4pm. This year the fete is organised by the Parish Committee.  All proceeds will go toward the  support of the Parish.  I encourage you to attend and support the Fete. Please read the Parish News Page for further details.

Please note that teachers and school staff are not in charge on this day  and may not be present or on duty.

School Advisory Council

I am currently seeking  expressions of interest from parents in being a part of the School Advisory Council.  The School Advisory Council  comprises the Principal,  Deputy Principal,  a small number of Parent representatives and the Parish Priest.

The Council meets  four - six times a year, usually once and perhaps twice a term.  We usually meet on a Tuesday at 5:15pm for about 1 hour - 90 minutes. The meetings next year will be  held online, or at school in person.

The School Advisory Council  discusses  school operations. Reports are given by the school and by the Parish. On occasions  curriculum issues will be presented. The Council give their views and advises the Principal on important matters and is a support to the Principal and Leadership of the school in their decision making process.

Matters that are discussed may  include

  • Enrolments and Marketing
  • Family partnerships/ Surveys
  • Child Safety
  • Catholic Identity
  • MACS and school Policy
  • Traffic Management
  • School resources/ Capital planning/ Improvements in the school
  • Curriculum / Data

These are just some of the ways a School Advisory Council can give advice to the Principal and Leadership in the school – there are many other areas as well.

If you are interested in being part of a 2024  School Advisory Council I ask that you  email me as to your interest and why you would be a good representative for our community.   Due date  Wednesday November 8th.

 Sun Smart

Please ensure that your child is in their Summer Uniform.  Students are required to wear hats when out doors in school time in Term 4 as part of our Sun Smart Policy. Please ensure that your child has their own sun cream and applies each day- before they come to school, and before recesses/ lunch.

Students must have a water bottle and keep hydrated.
