Wellbeing and Safety

This week we are going to have a look at some of the Respectful Relationships lessons being taught in the P-2 classrooms.

Prep - Topic 8 Lesson 1 - Fair and friendly play Pages 44-45

Students started by drawing themselves playing with their friends. This then supported a discussion about the games they play, how we make these games fair and who can play these games. This supports the development of a common shared language of fair and friendly play.

Student Questions:

How do we make sure games are fair for everyone playing?

Who can play our game?

Let’s have a look at what the students in the Three Four Hub have been up to in Respectful Relationships…

This week they have been looking at Topic 8 Lesson 4 ‘Respect in Action’ Pages 81-82

Students were split into groups and given one of the scenarios. They then discussed in their group what respect would look like and created a short role play.

Student questions:

What did you enjoy about the lesson?

Did you find it helpful? Why?

This insightful chat between Mark Wilson and Josh van Cuylenburg covers an often taboo subject between friends; miscarriages and losing a child.

While there’s a plethora of reasons why this is the case, Josh and Mark discuss how those challenging discussions can be remarkable for connection, empathy and simply knowing you’re not alone.
