Orchestra
Something fantastic happened on July 26th for the Class 6 Orchestra - they performed at the Hawthorn Arts Centre for The Victorian Schools Music Festival!
Not only did they play on an enormous stage, but they were also adjudicated and had a guest conductor Chris Kopke as well as their usual conductor Caitlin French. The students were also able to watch other school Orchestras perform.
"The trip to the Hawthorn Arts Centre was awesome because we got to catch the train into and then out of the city. We performed really well and Caitlin got us hot chips after we finished our session!"
Gabe Prohasky
"At the Hawthorn Arts Centre we performed in front of different schools. It was really fun listening to all the schools play and then getting a turn ourselves. We played "Sahara Crossing" and "Exhilaration".
On the day we took the train, it was very fun!"
Lilith Massacaglia
"At the Arts Centre where we performed, it felt good to go up on a stage - for me that's usually the case - and show people what I can do. In my perspective, it felt like usual, but that's because I love to perform. I don't get stage fright often because performing and music is my safe space. On the way there we took the train which was fun."

At the Hawthorn Arts Centre we watched other school's perform. Surprisingly one of the other school's was doing the same song as us. It looked as though we were the only public school. Our overall score was very good and excellent!"
Eve Massacaglia
"The music was amazing. It was very funny when the guest conductor said "your mum and dad bought you this beautiful bow so you may as well use it" because I have two mums!".
