This week's notes

Dear families and friends,

Taekwondo - Junior grades

Some very excited children headed into Palace Martial Arts last Tuesday for their session with Mukhtar. They will be heading in again next Tuesday for the final Taekwondo workout of the term. You can learn more about these visits inside this newsletter.

School Council Meeting

Due to the clash with the MARC Readers Cup we have changed our Student Free Day later in the year from 27th November to Monday 4th December.  Teachers will be using this day to complete student reports.

Drama excursion - Years 2-6

Years 2-6 students will once again head to Hamilton & Alexandra College next Monday 11th September to participate in a Drama Victoria excursion.  Please ensure that students are dressed neatly and have their Cavendish PS rugby jumpers. Children will need to bring water bottles and a morning snack. We will be back at school for a late lunch at about 1:30pm.

Cavendish Has Talent Show

Our big extravaganza is on next Wednesday 13th September.

Students are to get there at 5:30pm and the show will start promptly at 6pm.

With a mix of whole school, group and individual acts there will be something to entertain and delight everyone in the audience. The children are terribly excited and have been rehearsing very hard in order to present a top quality show.

We will be having a supper after the show and if families could bring a share plate that would be greatly appreciated.

Ms Ferrier away

Ms Ferrier will be away on leave for the rest of the term. We wish her the best and hope she starts feeling better soon.

Sick children

There seems to be a nasty bug circulating about the school these last few weeks. Hopefully with the upcoming school holidays everyone can refresh and recover but in the meantime please keep unwell children at home until they fully recover.

Recipe Book

Reminder to please get your recipes to Carly Behncke or Merryn Coughlin as soon as possible so they can complete the new recipe book and get it published.  Details are in this newsletter.

New cleaner required

We have had notification that Eliza will be finishing up as our school cleaner at the end of this term, so we are in need of a new cleaner to start in Term 4.  Eliza has done a wonderful job at making our school look clean and tidy and we thank you very much Eliza. If you are interested in taking on this role or have any questions, please contact Lyn from Logical Property Services on 0439 468 292.

End of Term 3

Next Friday 15th is the last day of Term 3.  Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm.

Have a lovely weekend,

Sally Purnell
