International Student Program

Dear Students, Teachers and Parents/Guardians,

On Tuesday 15 August, one of the accredited Edu-agencies in Melbourne visited our College with some potential and prospective students. They were all very impressed by our beautiful school environment, friendly teachers and enthusiastic students.

We are so lucky that our College is so close to the beach! Thank you Mr Andrew Fisher, one of our ILC PE teachers, for arranging for our ILC students to play volleyball games at the beach during the PE class. The weather was so amazing and the sea looked so blue!

Following our blog post from last week, another strength of Mordialloc College is that we offer a large variety of VCE subjects with acceleration options for highly capable students.

One of our capable students, Roy, has participated in this program. He is in Year 11 currently, but has enrolled in a Year 12 Maths Methods and Specialist Maths this year. Roy is also pursuing his interest in advanced mathematical physics by teaching himself differential geometry. Most of this material would not be met until at least the 2nd year of a tertiary maths or physics course. Some of it is well beyond that level. We are so thrilled by Roy's enthusiasm.

Last month, Roy's mother from China visited our College and met Roy's teachers and homestay host. Here is the message from Roy's mother:

Mordialloc College's positive academic reputation, caring staff, and on-site English Language Centre were the main factors for us to consider when choosing the school. The school  offers a large variety of VCE subjects, lunch time activities, and after school ISP study support. The school provides the students with carefully selected home-stay families, and dedicated teachers and support staff. My child really enjoys his study and living experience in Australia.
