Some words from the Principal

Mrs Danielle Heatley

I can't believe we are already finishing Term 3. While you are taking a break from the daily routine of the school day - we have lots of things happening to improve and enhance our school.   Some of the things to look out for when we return in Term 4 are:

  • Concreting around the front of the admin building and the staff room.   This is to support the foundations of the admin building and give it further strength.
  • Concrete grinders coming to remove some trip hazards from various locations around the school.
  • Painting of the grades 1/2 and 3 /4 toilets which will also include a new epoxy floor across all four!  The chocolate money that we raised earlier this year is supporting this enhancement!
  • OSHC decking is getting stained (weather permitting).
  • Heaters in the gym are getting serviced and flued.
  • 2 new flag poles installed to be able to display the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Island flags.  This is very exciting!!

As we bid farewell to Term 3, it's time to reflect on the remarkable experiences our students have had this term. It has been a term filled with growth, achievements, and memorable experiences.

Some of the highlights this term have been:

  • Smile Squad
  • Girlzone sessions

Looking Ahead to Term 4.....

As we enter Term 4, we can't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The final term of the year is always special, as it brings with it a sense of completion and preparation for the next stage.  Over the break I will attempt to put together a calendar with some key events (especially in the last few weeks of term) so families can plan ahead. There are always more to add - but hopefully it will be a start!  - Don't forget to book your tickets to the greatest event on the Karoo calendar (for adults) this year BOGAN BINGO!

We are incredibly proud of the achievements and growth we've seen in our students during Term 3. Their dedication, kindness and tenacity are a testament to them, and we're excited to see them continue to reach their personal excellence in Term 4. Thank you for your continued support and working in partnership with us.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday break, and look forward to welcoming our students and families back for an exciting Term 4!  I'm heading to Port Douglas....and I can't wait to switch off and have some quality time with my family in the sun!  I hope you too have something you are looking forward to and have something wonderful planned.
