Social Outreach Program: The Hub

Over the last year, Pitt House has facilitated a Social Outreach program, run at the local Wentworth Falls Anglican church, Holy Trinity.

Until now this opportunity has only been offered to Pitt House students. However, we are now opening up the program to include all Year 9 and 10 students across all Houses.

The program runs every second Friday morning from 8:30am-10:30am at the local Anglican church, which is just one block away. The programme runs in groups of four and, if you sign up, it is not expected that you participate every two weeks, but rather once or twice a year. There are a variety of jobs available at the Church - we work on the cash register, in the Op shop, or help out with the Anglicare Van. And, if you happen to have any Barista skills, they are put to use in the café.

Social outreach is an awesome opportunity to help out those in need in our local community. It is a highly fulfilling experience that we cannot recommend more highly. It should also be noted community outreach counts towards your service hours

If anyone is interested, please see Mr O’Keeffe at the Art & Design Building, or send an email if you would like to sign up or if you have any questions. Thank you!

Mr Warring Neilsen from The Hub was a guest at our Assembly this week, presenting a Certificate of Appreciation to Connor Secker (Year 11) for all the work the House of Pitt has volunteered and money raised to the Hub over the last 12 months. Well done, Connor and Pitt House!
