Basketball

Team of the Week

St Joseph's Panthers - The Year 3/4 boys had a great win over the West Tamworth Suns. The game ebbed and flowed early before our boys gained the upper hand and ran away with a great 33-20 victory. Well done boys!

Term 2 Sport

This term for Friday sport students will participate in the Tennis Program. This program is aimed at teaching students the skills involved in tennis. Thank you Mitch from Perform with Power Tennis Academy for providing our students with this opportunity.  

Future Dates

ADPSC Gala Day Friday 15th September - St Joseph's will attend the ADPSC Gala Day in Week 9. The gala day will consist of Soccer and Netball and will be held in Tamworth.

Meet ONE of our Polding and Armidale Diocesan Representatives for 2023

Meet Darcy Wood...

Darcy is in Year 5 at St Joseph's Primary School and is a well rounded young sportsman.

Darcy has represented the School in Basketball, Athletics and Cross Country. He has also gained selection in the Armidale Diocesan Basketball and Hockey Teams that took part in their respective Polding Trials.

At the conclusion of the Polding Hockey Trials, Darcy was selected in the Polding Hockey Team to compete at the NSW PSSA Hockey Championships. The championships took place in Tamworth and Darcy's team finished 7th, which was a great achievement. 

When asked what sport Darcy enjoys most he answered both basketball and hockey because they keep me fit.

Darcy's advice to other sporting achievers is to never give up! 

Darcy's sporting heroes that he looks up to are Michael Jordan (Basketball) and Michael York (Hockey).

Well done Darcy.
